Verv au bord de la rivière (l'île aux chiens)

Small flat. Big disappointment. Positive: It was relatively close to transport. Our friends lived nearby and the view was beautiful. Negative: 30 mins before checking in, we were texted and told the place wasn't ready. They couldn't give us a time. One hour later, we decided to go to the flat. It was raining and we couldn't get in. The information we were given was incorrect. We texted them. They sent us different info as to where to locate the key to the building but gave us the incorrect code for the flat. We knocked on the door and the cleaner was in there and shocked at our arrival. We told him that we'd leave and come back later. The flat still wasn't done. We texted again to find out how long we had to wait. They couldn't say. We waited another 2 hours. So 3 hours after the designated check-in time we finally got into the flat. To say that we were horrified, upset and angry would be an understatement. The whole place stank of cigarette smoke which triggered our daughters asthma. The hall cupboard which was supposed to be locked, couldn't be closed because inside there were over 10 garbage bags of dirty linen that hadn't been collected. There was no tea towel in the kitchen. No dishwashing liquid. Not enough mugs. No hand soap. Lots of jars of coffee but no tea and about a teaspoon of sugar in a jar. One of the chairs was broken. No TV remote. The walls were scuffed and dirty. The carpet had seen better days. The smoke detector beeped intermittently and it stated it needed to be replaced in 2022. The bed sank in the middle and the sofa really should not be used as a sofa bed as the foam was worn down and you slept on a metal frame. This was not suitable for 3 people. 2 at most. There was no place to relax if the sofa had to remain made up and there was no room for luggage unless you left it at the entrance. The whole place looked tired, as if it had been a while since anyone had actually gone through to check that all was as it should be.

OK Positive: Excellent location Negative: The space is very hot and room size is very small. No door in the bed room so there was no privacy

Horrendous Positive: I didn’t like anything about the property Negative: It was dirty, lots of damage to the cheap furniture and tiny. I arrived at the check in time and the cleaner was still in the property! Me and my partner had to wait 20 minutes for the cleaner to finally leave. Upon further inspection it was dirty, stains everywhere and the furniture was cheap and damaged. My partner and I did not stay the night because it was so unhygienic. I wrote a long email to the property including pictures as to why I wouldn’t be staying there. They acknowledged the extensive list of things but had the audacity to only offer a 50% refund not including the parking fee they scammed out of me. How they can justify only refunding 50% when I spent all of 30 mins in the property!

Unpleasant experience Positive: The view on the Canals Negative: they answered 2 or 3 days late all of our comms, had a very bad attitude towards de guest... They even asked us to prove we had used the toilet paper when we asked for more. Really miscared venue, quite underequipped.

Lovely apartment and a good stay.. Positive: Good location, nice area and view. Free parking is a big deal for me and the apartment has it. Amenities just good enough for the stay. Overall a good accommodation. Thanks Negative: Electric Shower very hard to control either very hot or very cold. Bottom area of toilet bowl is dark brown.
