You’ll be a giving-service paid guest! Positive: The flat is in a good location and has good facilities overall. However, there are a few important things future guests should be aware of. Negative: Firstly, I didn’t see in the advertisement that the flat is on the second floor with no lift. You need to climb two flights of stairs every time, which is something to keep in mind, especially if you are middle-aged, elderly, or have mobility issues. Secondly, the most disappointing part of our stay was the constant contact from the staff/business. I was repeatedly called and texted during my stay, to the point where it became very stressful. I was only in London for three days, and I genuinely felt I spent more time responding to messages than sightseeing. From the first day, I was being asked about laundry deliveries, whether I would be in the flat on a specific day, and whether they could enter the flat if I was not there. I explained several times that I did not yet know our plans. On one morning, the messages became very persistent, asking urgently for permission to enter the flat to collect and deliver laundry. I suggested they leave the laundry on the stairs, but they insisted they needed to come inside to collect old laundry as well. Eventually, I had to call them and clearly ask to be left alone. I explained that I was not responsible for their delivery schedule and that this could have been easily arranged after our check-out. Only then did the pressure stop. I would not have minded helping if the timing was reasonable, but the time window they gave was so large that it felt like I had to stay inside almost the entire day. As a paying guest, I felt more like I was providing a service to them rather than receiving one.
